In operation since 2016, Club Rhema’s aim was initially to assist the youths of Gonaives during weekends and school holidays, offering them a framework and activities free of charge, just so that they would not be wandering in the streets.
Among the young people we have trained in Haiti, one is now a supervisor who owns his business. He enrolled in our training programme in 2017 and we started supporting him using
private funds. Thanks to our entrepreneurship trainings, he developed his talent and started to train others to create sandals. Wanson showed Dr Regine Mfoumou his talent: picking up stones from a riverbank, then using them to create artwork. After spending time observing him, Dr. Régine personally funded his activities and helped create and stabilise his business by providing personalised training and connecting him with artists. He now owns a business
that makes art out of stones and supplies sandals for local traders. Additionally, Wanson is currently the lead supervisor for Club Rhema in Haiti. By 2018, Club Rhema started training the youths to help them build their career paths, offering training such as English, ICT, art, etc.
